The art of blending... ...is underappreciated.
Murmur~ 2009 Semi-dry white $15.00574 cases Blended wine is misunderstood in America. Largely because the blend used to represent a sum of otherwise unwanted parts. We intend to change that. This blend of Riesling, Pinot Grigio, and Gewurztraminer was an act of improvisation. Thus the name. Those swirling clouds of starlings you see are called Murmurations. Aptly so, if you've ever heard them murmuring over your vineyards. Thousands of minds swooping and diving in unison as of one consciousness. This kind of movement cannot be choreographed. This wine intends to honor that notion of the fleeting opportunity when intention, reaction, and circumstance come together to form reality. O.K. that's a little deep - short version is that we found these selections from three vineyards worked beautifully together to form a great summer wine. The Riesling (50%), the Grigio (20%), and the Gewurztraminer (25%) come from the Leelanau Peninsula. The remaining 5% constitutes Viognier, Sauv Blanc, and Traminette - all grown in Northern Michigan. Shrimp on the barby I say. |
