We are pleased to announce that the 2006 Pinot Blanc - Island View Vineyard just earned the title of Best Dry White Wine in Michigan! This is Bryan's 14th Best of Class award in the state competition over the last eight years.

This one is very special because Werner has been working so hard in the vineyard and really deserves the recognition. When he took over that orphaned vineyard it was in sad shape. The trunks had been poorly established, the training was non-existent and the rows had many holes with no plants. Today the vineyard is a model for viticulture. Werner has poured his energy and love into those 1100 plants and it paid off in 2006.

We learned that 20 of the 24 judges voted for the Best of designation making it a "walk off" according to one judge. Great job, Werner!

We are also pleased because our good friends at Gill's Pier earned the Best Semidry White for their Riesling. We had a good time at the awards ceremony and yes, we did drink out of the cup!
